Sometimes, it’s best to get right to the point and that means a fast, clear answer.  This customer was interested in buying an Elite Electric projector screen but it had to work with her short-throw (aka. ST or UST) projector. You’d think that any electric projection screen should work but the fact is that “tab-tensioned” retractable screens are flatter and more suitable whereas your garden-variety projection screen is not flat enough to handle it.

Service Team Member, Johnny immediately spotted a problem in the making and equipped the customer with the knowledge to get a screen that would be perfect for her DIY installation.

*The discussion below is based on actual chat transcripts with the omission of any personal/confidential material to protect the customer’s privacy.   An example in this case is to change the contact’s identification name/number   to “Customer”.

9:43:00 AM         Customer - Does the Elite's Spectrum Series Screen work with Short Throw Projectors?

9:43:20 AM             Johnny - The Spectrum is a great retractable screen but it won’t work with short-throw projectors and here is why.  Short throw projectors require a perfectly flat surface to project on; otherwise, the image will be distorted.  The good news is that I do have a solution for you.

9:43:51 AM             Johnny - Our CineTension B series uses a tab-tension design.  Between the bottom counterweight and the side tension cords, this screen presents a flat projection surface that will accommodate your short throw projector.  We are also in the process of developing a manual (non-electric) tab-tensioned retractable projection screen for commercial applications. It’s not  yet on the website; I just wanted to share a company secret so you’d know of the good things to come.  This manual screen would be a commercial product so you can see more on www.EliteproAV.com when it is ready.

9:44:00 AM             Johnny - In the meantime, you can see the  CineTension B  series from this link here;
