Setting Up Ambient & Ceiling Light Rejecting® Screens

Setting up an ALR projection screen is relatively easy but there needed to be a simple instructional video for the benefit of customers

To AV industry people, the concept of ALR (ambient light rejecting) screen materials is a pretty easy concept but consideration should be given to educating customers about its value as well. It’s good to show customers the difference between ALR and Matte White but it’s better to give them that insider knowledge about how the material should be set up and used. This video gives crucial advice on working with angular reflective materials and aligning the perfect “sweet spot” between projector and screen for stunning image quality.

This new video by Elite Screens is designed to serve as a training resource for new AV industry employees as well as the customers they are selling to. When buyers learn the advantages of specialty materials and how they are to be used, they are likely to develop a greater sense of appreciation for having the higher performance product.

Rather than waste time on answering a battery of questions, this 2-minute video tells the full story.

Elite’s CineGrey 5D® ALR projection screen features a .35mm thick PVC material that comprises of a silver-gray reflective surface with a tinted diffusion layer. It is a 1.5 gain material that delivers outstanding picture clarity and color temperature in addition to superb contrast levels. This angular-reflective material is ideal for use with floor or ceiling-mounted projectors in either a residential or business environment. Its 110° overall half-gain angle makes it ideal for theater-style seating while it both enhances picture brightness while retaining 88% polarization during 3D presentations.

About The CineGrey 3D® (Standard throw projectors)

The CineGrey 3D® is superior to traditional white or gray materials in its ability to maintain a sharp, bright image regardless of ambient light. The angular reflective material incorporates a diffusion layer over a highly reflective surface. This causes direct light from the projector to reflect squarely into the viewer’s field of vision while the outer contrast layer enhances image quality while absorbing indirect room lighting.

About The Aeon CLR® (Mentioned in intro text, is for UST projectors)

The Aeon CLR® is an EDGE FREE CLR® fixed frame screen that uses Elite’s innovative StarBright CLR® (Ceiling Light Rejecting®) material. Its serriform optical surface lens microstructure negates the washout effect of ambient light especially from overhead sources. This also enables the material to provide contrast levels that are 100 times greater than that of standard matte white projection screens.
