It is always a pleasure to see TYM complete their latest work of art. There are many great brands of projection screen manufacturers out there to choose from and any time an installer such as TYM chooses our brand for an installation, it’s a real honor. This is doubly so when such an installation wins an award from a prestigious industry publication such as EH Magazine. Electronic House Magazine wrote up the following intro to announce why this installation won the 2018 Electronic House Gold Award for Best Home Theater for the $25,000-75,000 category.
If there’s one room where customers can let their imagination run wild, it’s in a home theater. The owner of this award-winning home theater let his personality and heritage reflect in the design by incorporating decorative pieces made of steel. Owner of a steel factory, he put his creativity to work by using materials at his mill to fashion his own theater sign and film reels, which will eventually don the walls of the space that earned the Electronic House Gold Award for Best Home Theater, $25,000 to $75,000.
The gear for this installation reads off like a Christmas wish list for awesome apparel; Sony Projector, Blu-ray player and cable TV box, Apple TV box, Anthem Dolby Atmos receiver, Paradigm speakers with subwoofers, and an Acoustically Transparent projection screen from EPV. All this plays out under a canopy of stars created from a Savant lighting system, 5-miles of fiberoptic cable and one of TYM’s trademark galaxy-scape ceiling.
This is an opportunity to truly bring home the big screen in an epic manner. The Peregrine A4K Acoustically transparent projector screen presents a large 2.35:1 canvas for stunning imagery presented by a Sony VW675ES 4K Projector. The sound from the Paradigm CI Elite speakers behind the screen breathe through the material with perfect clarity to combine with the surrounding network of speakers and subwoofers for total sound immersion.
Entering the room takes the viewer out of the everyday world and into an other-worldly experience. Overhead swirls a custom starscape shining down on two-tiers of luxury home theater seating with a front row of leather bean-bags for those really casual movie moments. The walls are lined with Hollywood memorabilia that are flanked by custom light columns guiding viewers to their seats. When the moment arrives, the lights dim and the story begins.
About the Peregrine A4K Projection Screen (PGF138WH1W-A4K):
The 138″ (CinemaScope) acoustically transparent screen has a 1.1 gain ultra-white front projection surface that provides excellent color neutrality for superb color reproduction along with wide diffusion uniformity.
The perforated weave is designed to handle 4K (4096×2160) and 1080P (1920×1080) projectors while eliminating the visual artifact known as moiré effect. The dense mesh of the material has perforations that are visually imperceptible. This means that picture quality is not compromised and a clear sonic transparency is achieved.
