Q: Can I use my manual/electric Elite projection screen as a window shade to block the sunlight?
No, Elite manual and electric projection screens are not designed for use as a window curtain and should never be exposed to direct sunlight.  Prolonged exposure to solar radiation will destroy synthetic materials and such damage is not covered by our standard warranty.

Q: What is the power consumption and motor RPM for my Elite Electric screen?

Q: I am looking at purchasing an Elite Motorized Screen,VMAX120UWH2. I know all Elite motorized come with standard 12V trigger built-in, but my projector does not have a trigger out on it. Can I use Universal Wireless 5-12V Projector Trigger (ZU12V)?   
Yes. This device goes between the projector and plug.  It is designed for projector w/o low voltage trigger port to work with Elite Screen motorized screen.

Q: I know that all Elite Screens motorized screens include a built-in 5-12 volt trigger RJ45 input port, but what if my projector does not have a 5-12 volt trigger ouput port.  How can I take advantage of the automatic down/stop synchronizcation of my Elite motorized screen and my projector?
Elite Screens offers a wireless Universal 5-12 volt projector accessory (Part# ZU12V) for projectors that do not have a trigger output. Contact your preferred Elite Screens reseller or visit for information about purchasing this product.

Q: How can I extend my RJ-45 accessory such as my 5-12 v trigger, 3-way wall switch, and IR "eye" sensor?
You can extend the length of your cable using the ZSP-12V-50B. This 50 feet RJ-45 cable includes an extender plug coupler to allow you to join connections to your existing accessory. 

Q: What preventative maintenance does Elite Screens recommend for electric screens?
Elite strongly recommends using either a standard surge protector or a power conditioner on all electric projection screens.

Q: Does the VMAX 2 have a 5-12 volt trigger input?
Yes, the VMAX 2 has a RJ-45 5-12 volt trigger input.

Q: How do I know if my projector is compatible with the 5-12 volt trigger?
Check your projector's manual to see if your projector has a 5-12 volt trigger output. If it does then your projector has the ability to synchronize with your VMAX 2.

Q: Does the VMAX 2 include a 5-12 volt trigger cable?
Yes, the VMAX 2 includes an RJ-45 5-12 volt trigger.

Q: How can i clean the MaxWhite® (matte white) material on the Spectrum screen
The screen material can be cleaned with mild soap and water

Q: What is the viewing angle on the MaxWhite® and MaxWhite® FG material?
The viewing angle of the MaxWhite® and MaxWhite® FG material is 180°

Q: Will I void my warranty if I cut the power cord cable to hardwire my electric screen?
No, Elite Screens understand the need to hardwire your electric screen and therefore will not void your warranty.

Q: Where can i find the IR codes for my VMAX2 IR remote?
Elite provides binary codes for the IR remote, see below.

Q: Are Elite Screens compatible with Harmony Remotes?
Yes, Elite's electric screen products are compatible with Harmony remotes and in their database.

Q: What is the frequency of your RF remote?
The frequency of the RF remote is 433MHz

Q: Can I increase the Top Black Border on my screen?
No, your screen’s Top Black border has been set to deploy to its full extent. Attempting to increase will damage the motor and void your warranty with Elite Screens.

Q: How do you decode model #'s?
Each Elite Screens' model number starts with the product series name. Follow by case color (if applicable, certain models only available in one color), screen material, screen aspect ratio and product series version. Lastly, extra black drop and its length (if applicable). Here is an example.

VMAX 128 U W X 2 -E20

  • 128: 128" Diag.
  • U: Black Case (X: White Case)
  • W: MaxWhite® Screen Material
  • X: 16:10 format (V: 4:3 / H 16:9 / S: 1:1 )

Q: Which side is the power cord on when I face the screen?
The power cord on the VMAX2 series is located on the left side of the unit. This applies to all screens in the VMAX series, as well as all of the wall-mounted electric screens that we produce.

Q: What is the power cable length of the VMAX2 Series Electric Screen?
 The power cable length for VMAX2 Series models below 150" is approximately 70.8" (1.8M), for models 150" and above is 98.4" (2.5M). Note: This measurement is accurate for USA only, other countries may be equipped with different lengths for each model.

Q: I am interested in buying an in-ceiling trim kit for my Saker electric screen but I notice you don’t provide it.  Why is that?
A: We don’t offer an in- ceiling trim kit for the Saker series because we already have another screen with the same material for that. The VMAX 2 is an electric roll-up screen that uses the exact same material as the Saker series but it’s casing accommodates an in-ceiling trim kit. We have many sizes and aspect ratios of this screen to choose from.
