Electric Screens – Recessed/In-Ceiling FAQ’s

▶ General Recessed/In-Ceiling Electric Screens FAQ’s
Q: Is the black top drop also “acoustic” material on the acoustically transparent models?
A: The entire material is made of the AcousticPro UHD, so it is transparent.
Q: I know that all Elite Screens motorized screens include a built-in 5-12 volt trigger RJ45 input port, but what if my projector does not have a 5-12 volt trigger ouput port. How can I take advantage of the automatic down/stop synchronizcation of my Elite motorized screen and my projector?
A: Elite Screens offers a wireless Universal 5-12 volt projector accessory (Part# ZU12V) for projectors that do not have a trigger output. Contact your preferred Elite Screens reseller or visit shop.elitescreens.com for information about purchasing this product.
Q: What preventative maintenance does Elite Screens recommend for electric screens?
A: Elite strongly recommends using either a standard surge protector or a power conditioner on all electric projection screens.
Q: Will I void my warranty if I cut the power cord on my Evanesce screen to hardwire it?
A: No, you will not void your warranty, but cutting the cord is not necessary. Please see our hardwired connection (direct control) instructions here.
Q: Where can i find the IR codes for my Evanesce IR remote?
A: Elite provides binary codes for the IR remote, see below. Up: 1111 0000 0001 Stop: 1111 0000 0010 Down: 1111 0000 0100
Q: Can I increase the Top Black Border on my screen?
A: No, your screen’s Top Black  border has been set to deploy to its full extent. Attempting to increase will damage the motor and void your warranty with  Elite Screens.
Q: What is the power consumption and motor RPM for my Elite Electric screen?
A:  Please click here for the motor information of your Elite electric screen.
Q: Can the Elite Screens Evanesce in-ceiling screens be installed a drop ceiling with t-bar ceiling tiles?
A: All of our Evanesce Series in-ceiling screens (Evanesce, Evanesce B, Evanesce Tab-Tension, Evanesce Tab-Tension B, and Evanesce Plus) include installation hardware kits for ABOVE and BELOW.  The kit includes four long vertical brackets to allow the screen to be suspended from any above structure.
Q: Do any of the trim pieces from the Evanesce Series screen come off to allow installation if there is no access above the screen?
A: Yes, our  European Style Evanesce Series screen will accommodate your installation. Please click HERE to view the user guide for installation instructions.
Q: Do any of the trim pieces from the Evanesce B Series screen come off to allow installation if there is no access above the screen?
A: Yes, the Evanesce B allows for both above and below ceiling installations.
Q: What is the difference between the Evanesce (tension) B and Evanesce(tension) Series?
A: The Evanesce B and Evanesce Tension B Series’ differ from the regular series in that the B Series were mainly designed for home theater applications. With that in mind, we focused on the most popular aspect ratios and diagonal sizes used in a home theater setting. We also reduced the size of the housing and motor. By focusing on fewer models and by reducing the amount of materials used for the housing unit, we were able to cut down on production costs which we in turn passed along to the consumer. The Evanesce and Evanesce Tension were designed more for commercial applications such as conference rooms and auditoriums. Nevertheless, the screens can also be installed in dedicated home theaters. The Evanesce and Evanesce Tension feature a wider array of aspect ratios and sizes, have a faster motor, and utilize a more robust housing unit. All series come with a complete remote kit and have hardware accessories that allow for either a below or above ceiling installation (excluding Evanesce Plus).
Q: What preventative maintenance does Elite Screens recommend for electric screens?
A: Elite strongly recommends using either a standard surge protector or a power conditioner on all electric projection screens.
