"it works, and it doesn't break the bank"
a little background here.... I've installed hundreds of screens from cinema grey to cheap home owner crap. This one I have in my own house, not that its the best; but its up there in quality. First one I put in for a client amazed me because of the price. Looks plenty good and does its job. the sides do roll a bit but only by about 1" each side hardly noticeable unless you scrutinize it. picture quality is great over all and all but the best projectors out there won't be of any help, does a great job of being "a Screen" to project upon. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again for future projects and will recommend for those on a budget any day. Anything better will be twice the price and probably a fixed unit, not a rollup. thumbs up unless you have a nearly unlimited budget.

"Do a Google search on "projection screen" and you'll quickly learn that Elite Screens is one of the leading manufacturers in this particular product space (The Wirecutter agrees). Granted, their screens tend to cost more than lesser brands' alternatives, but the way I look at it, the incremental price difference is sufficiently palatable when amortized over the number of years I plan to use the screen. And to that point, I suspect I'll get a better response from Elite Screens' customer support team than I did from Homegear's, should I encounter a motor or other problem in the future."(see full article here)

"The AUHD material is definitely a keeper and extremely happy. The 1080p2 was great, but the projector setup we have now, is exactly what I was hoping to achieve. "

FAQ's
Q: What screens do short throw projectors work with?
A: Elite's non-tensioned screens are great with standard throw projectors, but just like any non-tensioned projector screen, we don’t recommend using it with an ultra/short throw projector. Non-tensioned screens are not completely flat and while it may have little, if any, perceivable effect with a standard projector’s image, it can distort ultra/short throw imagery. We recommend purchasing Elite's tab-tensioned screens utilizing the CineWhite® or CineWhite® UHD materials or any of Elite's fixed frame screens if an ultra/short throw projector is required.
Q: Can I buy a small screen material sample?
A: Yes, you can buy an AcousticPro UHD screen material sample by clicking here.
Buy an AcousticPro 1080P2 screen material sample by clicking here.
Buy an MaxWhite® screen material sample by clicking here.
Q: Can I use the AcousticPro UHD material in a room with ambient light?
A: The AcousticPro UHD performs at its best in a light controlled environment, not in a room that will have ambient light. The material is a fabric with a special weave pattern for projection use. It is suggested to go with our standard CineWhite® material if a matte white screen is needed. Or better yet, our very best CineGrey 3D® or CineGrey 5D® material will perform better with a higher gain and Angular-Reflective front projection with ambient light rejecting technology.
Q: How do I synchronize the ZU12V Universal 12 Volt Projector Trigger to my Elite electric screen?
A: For the instructional guide on synchronizing the ZU12V, please click here.
To watch the instructional video, please click here.
Q: Can I use my manual/electric Elite projection screen as a window shade to block the sunlight?
A: No, Elite manual and electric projection screens are not designed for use as a window curtain and should never be exposed to direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to solar radiation will destroy synthetic materials and such damage is not covered by our standard warranty.
Q: If I install a Spectrum Motorized Screen into the ceiling, what are my possible methods of controlling it?
A: Since the Spectrum’s Infrared (IR) Sensor is hidden within the ceiling, there are a few options in which to control a ceiling installed Spectrum Screen:
- IR Eye Extender (ZSP-EYE&12V): With the need of line of sight, the IR signal will not be sensed by the IR receiver built within the housing of the Spectrum. By using an IR eye extender that attaches via the Spectrums all purpose RJ45 port, the extended sensor provides a solution to this problem.
- Radio Frequency (RF) Remote (ZSP-RF-B, ZSP-RF-W): The Spectrum, unfortunately, does not come with an RF remote. It does, however, have an RF receiver built into the housing. Without the need of direct line of sight, an RF remote would be a good control option.
- In-Wall Switch (ZIW-B, ZIW-W, ZIW-W1): The spectrum comes with an all purpose RJ45 port. By routing a cable within the wall, the In-Wall Switch provides a close proximity control option. In addition, you can create your own in-wall switch by purchasing only our ZIW-Module.
- Wireless 12V Trigger (ZSP-TR01): Use your projector as a screen control option by hooking up this simple device to your projector’s output trigger port. If your screen doesn’t have an output trigger port, the Universal Wireless 12V Projector Trigger (ZU12V) works just as well for all projectors.
Q: I know that all Elite Screens motorized screens include a built-in 5-12 volt trigger RJ45 input port, but what if my projector does not have a 5-12 volt trigger ouput port. How can I take advantage of the automatic down/stop synchronizcation of my Elite motorized screen and my projector?
A: Elite Screens offers a wireless Universal 5-12 volt projector accessory (Part# ZU12V) for projectors that do not have a trigger output. Contact your preferred Elite Screens reseller or visit shop.elitescreens.com for information about purchasing this product.
Q: How can I extend my RJ-45 accessory such as my 5-12 v trigger, 3-way wall switch, and IR "eye" sensor?
A: You can extend the length of your cable using the ZSP-12V-50B. This 50 feet RJ-45 cable includes an extender plug coupler to allow you to join connections to your existing accessory.
Q: What preventative maintenance does Elite Screens recommend for electric screens?
A: Elite strongly recommends using either a standard surge protector or a power conditioner on all electric projection screens.
Q: How can i clean the MaxWhite® (matte white) material on the Spectrum screen?
A: The screen material can be cleaned with mild soap and water.
Q: Does the Spectrum have a 5-12 volt trigger input?
A: Yes, the Spectrum has a RJ-45 5-12 volt trigger input.
Q: What is the power cable length of the Spectrum Series Electric Screen?
A: The power cable length for all Spectrum Series models is approximately 70.8" (1.8M). Note: This measurement is accurate for USA only, other countries may be equipped with different lengths for each model.
