The AcousticPro 1080P3 is an acoustically transparent perforated weave fabric front projection material. The angular weave eliminates the moire effect while presenting warm neutral colors for today's high definition 1080P (1920x1080) and 4K UHD projectors.  The AcousticPro1080P3 allows speaker placement behind while allowing an exceptional acoustically transparent performance.

"Totally Impressed!"

I rarely write reviews, but I'm totally impressed! This review is for Elite Screens Designer Cut, 135-inch 16:9 Acoustically Sound Transparent Projector Screen Cloth Fabric, ZRM-135HW-A1080P3. The screen is installed over in-wall speakers. First, the fabric is a finer weave and a brighter white than appears in the Amazon photo. There is no discernible loss of audio quality over the speakers. It is really quite amazing. The frame measures 120" x 71 1/2" and is made of 1" x 4" pine. The screen fabric was stretched (there is very little stretch to the screen fabric), and stapled to the frame. Four inch self adhesive black velvet was added for a high contrast border. The frame is hung using four 12" OOK Hangman french cleats (2 on the top and 2 on the bottom) for easy install and removal. All in all, for a DIY screen it has a professional clean look, was cost efficient, reasonably easy to assemble and install, and when the lights go down and the projectors lights up, the image and sound quality is amazing! We love it! Whether the source is BluRay, antennae TV, internet, whatever, this screen fabric is amazing. I wouldn't say it if I didn't do it and didn't mean it. Totally impressed.

Q: Can I buy a small screen material sample?

A: Yes, you can buy a screen material sample by clicking here.

Q: How far should I place my speakers behind Elite’s AcousticProA1080P2 & the AcousticPro1080P3 (Acoustically Transparent) screen materials?

A: projection screen mounted flush against the wall over a properly installed in-wall speaker will have a sufficient distance by itself. There will generally be about a 1” total distance between the speaker’s dust cap (depending on make/model) and the screen with a 5mm (.2”) spacing between an in-wall speaker’s grill and the Acoustic Transparent screen material itself.  However, if a sub-woofer is going to be placed in front of an acoustic transparent electric screen, please allow a minimum of 5-6 inches so the rumble of the speaker does not cause the material to move.

Q: Will I sacrifice picture quality using Elite’s AcousticPro 1080P3 (Acoustically Transparent) screen material?

A: All acoustically transparent materials on the market today are light enough in thickness to allow sound to penetrate it with low-level attenuation (decrease in sound quality). However, the tight weave in the AcousticPro1080P3 material allows acoustic transparency to occur and also allows light penetration resulting in light loss which creates a dimmer image.  A special reflective compound coats the surface of Elite’s 1080P acoustic material to compensate for light penetration by reflecting the brightness of the projected image. All these features come together to create a product with an overall audio attenuation of less than 3% while presenting a neutral color temperature (6500°-7000° Kelvin) in an image that is comparable to a standard matte white non-acoustic projection screen.
