How to order a Spectra White Fiberglass (FG) Material

Elite’s new Spectra White Fiberglass is a self-supporting matte white front projection screen surface with fiberglass backing.  The fiberglass backing reduces the amount of curling on the edges that common non-tensioned materials are susceptible to. This feature helps maintain flatness throughout the entire material.

The Spectra White Fiberglass produces outstanding images that are rich in color and contrast in environments with controlled lighting.  Offers a broad viewing angle with wide diffusion uniformity for a clear bright image from any angle.  The screen surface has a black–backing to eliminate light penetration, is mildew resistant, and washable with mild soap & water.

Q: What is the difference between Elite’s MaxWhite® Fiberglass and SpectraWhite Fiberglass? Why is fiberglass backing important?
Elite’s MaxWhite® Fiberglass and Spectra White Fiberglass are very comparable as they both are self-supporting matte white front projection screen surfaces with fiberglass backing. Having a fiberglass backing is beneficial as the embedded fiber glass improves rigidity which results in a more stiff material. Thus, the fiberglass backing provides the flattest possible surface a non-tensioned screen can offer. Additionally, the fiber glass backing eliminates any side curling non-tensioned materials are susceptible to, especially under cold temperatures.

Both the MaxWhite® Fiberglass and SpectraWhite Fiberglass will provide an excellent quality image in light controlled environments. The main difference between the materials is that the MaxWhite Fiberglas utilizes a more neutral white material for better white levels. Both the Spectra White Fiberglass and MaxWhite® Fiberglass have viewing angles of 180° (90° left and right). The wide diffusion uniformity on both the materials maintain luminance levels throughout the entire surface.

The MaxWhite® Fiberglass is also offered on many more of or products, whereas the SpectraWhite Fiberglass is solely available on the Starling and Starling Tension.

The Spectra White Fiberglass material is also slightly thicker than the MaxWhite® Fiberglass.
